Frequently Asked Questions

How does an air purifier work?

Dirty air is drawn into the air purifier through the inlet grill. The pre-filter traps larger airborne particles. Air then passes through a carbon filter, which helps reduce odours and captures larger particles. Next, the air passes through the HEPA, or main filter. Some units have electronic ionisers to further assist in particle removal*. A powerful fan quietly distributes air throughout the room.

*The ioniser's in Bionaire's appliances are compliant with regional regulations in that they produce less ozone than the ozone emission standards set forth in the regional regulations. However, in high concentrations ozone can be harmful to birds and small pets. To prevent ozone build-up, we suggest using the independently controlled ioniser function in well ventilated areas.
